Entry price of Honda’s new dedicated hybrid vehicle (Insight) is set to ¥1.89 million, according to Mag-X and Response.

New Toyota Prius (YM2010): more info from Mag-X

Japanese Mag-X magazine has also revealed that the upcoming Toyota Prius will be equipped with solar panels, which will power the ventilation and air conditioning systems in order to achieve better fuel economy. The article mentions that the engine size has been increased to 1.8l (using the 2ZR engine) and it will achieve 38 km per liter and not 40 (which was the initial target).

A touring version will be also available, which will be fitted with 17'' wheels and LED headlamps. Toyota aims to sell 5000 cars per year in Japan.

Lexus HS 250h: More info on dedicated Lexus hybrid model

Toyota will show a concept version of a dedicated Lexus hybrid model at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show in two months. According to Mag-X, a Japanese magazine, the hybrid vehicle will be dubbed HS 250h and will be released sometime in 2009.

The dedicated hybrid model will be a relative of the Toyota "SAI" hybrid (internally 500L), and come with a 2.4l hybrid engine that is also fitted in the Camry hybrid. The car will have a BMW i-drive-esque, LED headlights, etc.
